Tteokbokki recipe (Korean rice cakes)
A staple of Korean street vendors, tteokbokki is one of the cheapest, yet filling foos you'll find in Korea
Tteokbokki recipe
Spicy? - Hot
Time to cook? - 10 minutes
Serves? - 2 people
Ingredients
4 dried anchovies
4 spring onions
1/2 tablespoon white sugar
200ml water
2 slices odeng (Korean fish cake)
20 pieces ttok (rice cake)
2 tablespoons gochujang (red pepper paste)
Method
1) Usually the rice cakes will be frozen. Defrost them and split them. Cut up the odeng and spring onions.
2) In a pan, boil the water with the anchovies.
3) Remove the anchovies and add in the rice cakes, sugar, spring onions, gochujang and odeng. Boil until the sauce thickens.
